Liverpool pop-rocker Zuzu signs major label deal ahead of latest Merseyside gig, Getintothis’ Pamela Tannoysystem ponders a positive for one of the region’s most promising new talents.

Merseyside songwriter Zuzu has inked her first record label deal.

The GIT Award 2017 One To Watch winner, Zuzu has signed with Virgin Records revealing the news on social media.

The news comes ahead of her first gig on the year on home soil on Tuesday February 20 alongside Howie Payne at Liverpool’s Unity Theatre.

The news was revealed by Vision ArtistsDavid Bianchi who pictured Zuzu in celebratory mode alongside her management team including John Dawkins (Charli XCX, Tom Grennan) and Virgin A&R, Joe Etchells.

Zuzu has enjoyed a steady rise to prominence over the last 18 months, catching the eye of BBC IntroducingRadio One, and many others through her energetic, attitude packed guitar pop. She enjoyed a jam-packed 2017 with many festival performances including Liverpool Sound City.

More recently she’s toured with Tom Grennan and The Academic and was last month featured on Steve Lamacq‘s show for 6Music during Independent Venue Week.
