Peter Hook and The Light plus The Mysterines at Middlewich festival,  Mental Health Awareness Week, and a new video from Cabbage, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley has all the week’s music news.

The Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival promises to be bigger and better this year and will be headlined by Peter Hook and The Light.

The Joy Division and New Order legend heads up a bill that includes The Mysterines, Deja VegaPale Rider and Katie Mac.

The Town Council led festival will be held across a total of seven venues on Friday, June 15 to Sunday, June 17.

Friday is ticketed, when Peter Hook will headline, while Saturday and Sunday are free.

Trembling Bells

Trembling Bells will play Liverpool’s Philharmonic Music Room as part of a UK tour.

The folk rock band have recently released their latest album Dungeness and will play in Liverpool on Friday, September 10.

Belgian band Cocaine Piss are set to headline EBGBs later this month. They’ll be supported by Strange CollectiveSalt The Snail and Eyesore And The Jinx.

A new exhibition in Liverpool is marking Mental Health Awareness Week at Constellations.

The Mind Map are presenting their We Love Life project until May 22, a series of seven photo interviews by Newcastle based photographer Darina Mohammed.

The exhibition launched at Sound City earlier this month and uncovers the different ways musicians stay mentally well. It features Sam FenderTV MESeatbeltsBeija FloKingFastFuss and HAARM.

A Greater Manchester based record label is offering 80 people from the North West an opportunity to work in the music industry.

Ostereo, based at MediaCityUK in Salford, is launching the new two-week internship programme following the company’s rapid growth.

The digital only label, launched in 2016, has over 20 international artists on its roster who have clocked up over 2 billion streams globally.

Our featured new track this week comes from Cabbage, who have released a video for their single Postmodernist Caligula from new album Nihilistic Glamour Shots.

The video features members of The Picadilly Rats as well as members of the public who were invited to take part in the shooting of the video at The Castle Hotel in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
