The folk at Liverpool’s Echo Arena have left some suggestive tweets on their timeline, Getintothis’ Lauren Wise considers what it could mean.

A series of posts by the Echo Arena’s Twitter have raised hopes that Paul McCartney might be playing a date in his home town.

The tweets tease the former Beatle’s famous bass around notable places in Liverpool, including in front of the Eleanor Rigby statue on Stanley St, outside the Philharmonic Pubwhere McCartney recently played a secret gig – and outside the Cavern Club.

Last month, McCartney was made a Companion Of Honour for his contribution to music. He is only one of a few musicians to receive the honour, including Vera Lynn and opera singer Janet Baker.

McCartney last played the Echo Arena in June 2015 and played Beatles classics including Eight Days A WeekI’m Looking Through YouLovely Rita and Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite! plus the 1980 electronic oddity Temporary Secretary.
