The Murder Capital album details, Lydia Ainsworth to play 81 Renshaw and a new track from The S.L.P.

Larkins will play The Zanzibar while Dublin outfit Fangclub also head for Liverpool, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley with the news and a new track from Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno.

Ahead of their UK and European tour, which includes a date in Liverpool at Arts Club, Dublin band The Murder Capital have announced details of their upcoming album.

When I Have Fears will be released on August 16 on Human Season Records and will be available on gatefold colour LP, black LP, as part of a limited bundle, CD and as a digital download.

Produced by Flood (PJ Harvey, New Order, Foals) the album features both singles from the band so far, Feeling Fades and Green & Blue, as well as the first studio recording of breakthrough track More Is Less.

In other news, Lake District festival Kendal Calling have announced a unique competition this week, giving local organisations the chance to ‘win a band’.

The competition, open to schools, colleges and community groups in Cumbria, will see the festival give away 4 full band kits to entrants that submit a video detailing why they are deserving of the prize.

The kits, which includes drums, guitars, amps and a PA, are hoped to help to continue to produce more of the Cumbrian music talent showcased at the festival, which runs this year between Thursday, July 25 and Sunday, July 29. Enter by going here.

Deeper Cuts Festival – an interstellar new music happening in Liverpool

Following the release of her third studio album Phantom ForestLydia Ainsworth will play 81 Renshaw on her UK tour.

Ainsworth will head from Toronto to play in Liverpool on Thursday, September 12.

Also in gigs, another Dublin band are setting sail for Merseyside as Fangclub will play The Zanzibar in the autumn.

Their bludgeoning grunge will arrive on Seel Street on Friday, May 24.

Meanwhile, Jimmy’s have continued adding to their listings ahead of their yet to be confirmed opening this summer.

They’ve announced that Tom Speight, having just released his debut album Collide, will play the venue on Friday, November 22.

Hotly tipped Manchester outfit Larkins will also play The Zanzibar later this year.

Their latest track, TV Dream, was chosen by Radio 1 as their BBC Introducing track of the week recently, and they’ll play in Liverpool on Sunday, October 13 as the first night of a full UK tour.

Finally in gigs, Aberdeen alternative four piece Dude Trips will play Outpost on Sunday, July 7.

They released their latest single, In Between Days, yesterday and will be supported by North Wales outfit Everyone & Anyone, Liverpool lads Red Winter, Barrow band Canada Square and Warrington’s Passionflower for a packed lineup on Renshaw Street.

Our new track this week is a collaboration between Kasabian co-founder Serge Pizzorno and London rapper Little Simz.

Pizzorno launched his new project, The S.L.P. with new single Favourites last week, which you can watch and listen to below.
