The Lathums

Liverpool Sound City have launched a new streaming service as music lovers stay home, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley with the first lineup.

The festival calendar may be decimated by coronavirus, but that hasn’t stopped Liverpool festival Sound City bringing their acts to the masses.

The festival, which was due to take play in May, have launched a new streaming service which features a weekly show each Thursday evening.

Guest House, which kicks off next Thursday (April 2), can be subscribed to for £4.99 with revenue going to the artists that perform.

For the first iteration, fast-rising Wigan outfit and Getintothis One To Watch 2020 The Lathums head up the lineup.

Also performing are icy pop throbbers Monarchy, Hull five-piece Fever, groove rockers Crawler and pop-punk exciters Bronnie.

Positive Vibration festival rescheduled due to coronavirus

Talking to Getintothis about the new initiative, Sound City Chief Executive Rebecca Ayres said: “We wanted to create a fair and equitable way for artists to reach their fans and get paid – it’s such a bewildering time at the moment for everyone, and we felt that the least we could do was to find a new way to support artists.“
