Car Seat Headrest have announced forthcoming album Making A Door Less Open due for release May 1 on Matador.
Ahead of the release comes the revealing of 8 minute epic There Must Be More Than Blood. The release is accompanied by a special acoustic performance of the song by front man Will Toledo in character as Trait.
In its mesmeric low burn, album centrepiece, There Must Be More Than Blood presents another facet of the broad palette found on MADLO, with Toledo placing emphasis on the individual songs, each with its own: “special energy.”
There Must Be More Than Blood follows recent singles Hollywood, a track with heavy groove and piercing guitar riff.
Car Seat Headrest, like many have cancelled their summer tour dates due to COVID-19, with plans to reschedule.
Doing something a little different and not so common these days, Making A Door Less Open will be available with distinct track listings and mixes for digital, CD and vinyl.
Created over the course of four years, it is the result of a fruitful collaboration between Car Seat Headrest, led by Will Toledo, and 1 Trait Danger, a CSH electronic side project consisting of drummer Andrew Katz and Toledo’s alternate persona, Trait.
Making A Door Less Open is released May 1.
