Kelly Lee Owens

Techno producer Kelly Lee Owens releases new track Night as a taster for her Inner Song album and Getintothis’ Banjo sets his toes tapping.

To call Kelly Lee Owens multi talented would be to play her abilities down somewhat.

Owens started writing poerty as a child, inspired by the nature she saw around her in her native Wales. at 19, she moved to Manchester where she worked as a nurse in a cancer ward. It was here she got involved with running local music festivals and was encouraged to follow her path in the music business by her patients.

Upon moving to London, Kelly Lee Owens took up the bass guitar, worked in record shops and got an intern posiotion at XL Recordings, home of  The Prodigy, Adele, FKA Twigs and Peaches, amongst many more.

Coming into contact with Daniel Avery and Errol Alkan led to studio time, including collaborating on Avery‘s superb Drone Logic album.

Owens‘ own eponymous debut album was released in 2017 and went on to work with St Vincent and Bjork.

New album Inner Song is set to be released on August 28. In the meantime, we can listen to new track Melt below.

Jason Simon of Dead Meadow returns with new solo album

Speaking about this new track, Owens says it “speaks as to how feelings and insights are more accessible to us at nighttime – how the veils are thinner somehow and therefore how we are more able to connect to our hearts true desires.

I wanted to release this track as a gift to you during this crazy time, to give a part of my heart to you all.”
