Bristol musician Fenne Lily has shared “To Be A Woman Pt. 2”, a new single released today via Dead Oceans, Getintothis’ Peter Goodbody has the info.

Also announced are brand new autumn UK/EU headline tour dates (as well as US tour dates in support of Waxahatchee).

The single follows the release of ‘Hypochondriac’ last month, Fenne Lily’s first single for Dead Oceans.

And recent news that Fenne Lily will be supporting Waxahatchee on a number of US tour dates this August.

To Be A Woman Pt.2 bounds with restlessness and an urge to start anew.

Over a pacing drum beat and driving arpeggios, Fenne maps the sound of knowing you’re in the wrong company.

It’s raw and furious, coming from a place of frustration and pain born from a loss of control and a breach of trust,” Fenne shares.

With “To Be a Woman Pt. 2,” Fenne inverts the straightforward confessional style she’s come to master.

Now the heartbreak is a set piece, a background to her own internal monologue, advising against the pitfalls of her past. “It’s both a retaliation against subordination and a reclamation of power,Fenne says.

This bittersweet revisionist relationship history presents both a call to arms, and an accountability to not look back.
