Tegan and Sara are set to play Manchester Albert Hall as Nikki and The Waves launch their new single at EBGBS, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley with the news.

FKA twigs have this week announced details of her highly anticipated second album, MAGDALENE, he album will be released on October 25.

It is the follow up to FKA twigs’ critically acclaimed Brit Award and Mercury Prize nominated debut LP1 from 2014.

Created in a period where her confidence was knocked following heartbreak and laparoscopic surgery, MAGDALENE is the sound of twigs reconfiguring, emotionally and physically. To coincide with the announcement, FKA twigs has released the first single from the record

twigs will tour North America in November following the release of the album, you can listen to their new single Holy terrain ft. Future, at the bottom of the post.

FKA twigs’ MAGDALENE

In Liverpool news this week, Gibberish Brewpub will play host to a special autumnal event next month.

A Baltic Harvest is the brainchild of Liverpool musician Silvermoon, who will be joined by a number of artists to raise money for the Love, Jasmine bereavement support charity.

Also performing on the day will be: Oh Well Goodbye, Claire Welles, Loka, Glollosalia, Bleached Heat, Matt Rynn and Crossfire Hurricane.

They’ll be joined by DJ sets from RongoRongo‘s Mick Crysalid, Ed Brookes and Dan Copley.

Also involved are Liverpool’s Mikkeler Running Club, who’ll be heading out at midday on Saturday, 19 October.

RongoRongo

RongoRongo have announced a headline date at The Zanzibar for later this month.

They’ll be joined by Stores, Feral Wheel and Jamie on Saturday, 21 September. Following the bands, there’ll be DJ sets from Eggy Records.

Lightning Dust announce UK tour and Liverpool date

Canadian indie-pop outfit Tegan and Sara will bring their new record Hey, I’m Just Like You to the UK later this year.

The album is a High School memoir, and they’re set to play Manchester Albert Hall on Tuesday, 19 November.

Hull shoegazers Bdrmm have this week signed to Sonic Cathedral and have announced details of their debut EP, If Not, When?

The new EP collects together all of their releases to date, alongside a new song called Shame. The limited-edition 10” also features the tracks The Way I Want, Heaven and Kare; the digital version adds C:U and Question Mark.

Nikki & The Waves

Finally in gigs, Nikki and The Waves will launch their latest single Welsh Mountains at EBGBS next month.

Support is yet to be announced for the gig on Friday, 4 October.
