Christmas is coming as is the end of a decade as Getintothis’ Simon Kirk brings you the last gig guide of the year.

Well, we can’t say it’s been a good month. If Thursday’s election result is anything to go by, lock yourselves in – the new decade promises to be a bumpy ride.

Political doom and gloom aside and it’s shaping up to be a bit of a local love-in this week. Plenty of good, intimate and affordable shows dotted around the place.

I’m aware that this is the last guide of 2019 and indeed this decade. Gone. I can almost hear the collective sniffles.

In the meantime you can head to our Christmas and New Year Guide that our very own Steven Doherty took the reigns on this year.

On a serious note, thanks for reading the guide over the last 12 months. A big thanks to all of you who get involved and go out to gigs every week. It’s a fucking tough sell out there at the minute with promoters very much working on the fringes of it all.

You too, as punters, who rattle the tin around to scrape a few extra pennies for tickets. Times are tough, so big ups to you for getting involved.

As for this punter. No more guides, no more lists. Like every other festive period, it’s time to go down a nostalgic rabbit hole, with the ‘Floyd and a bit of ‘Cohen firmly in the ire.

Merry Christmas. Look after each other out there and, as always, stay frosty.

The pick of this week’s action.
