The Invisible avert death to play Liverpool.

Well, this has been quite some week of gigging announcements for Liverpool.
After the glorious news of Ariel Pink‘s imminent arrival at the Kazimier, we’ve woken up to find out London’s intergalactic space-disco trio The Invisible are landing in Studio 2 on Parr Street on Saturday October 13.
Yup, Studio 2. STUDIO BLEEDING 2 – this should sell out in four and half seconds.
It probably won’t as the world is spinning backwards and John Terry hasn’t been placed in the stocks and had mouldy tomatoes thrown at him.
Anyways, The Invisible experienced something of a horrific happening earlier this year when frontman Dave Okumu suffered a near-death electrocution while playing in Nigeria.
Fortunately, he has made a full recovery and the band are now set to tour their quite spectacular second record Rispah, which builds on the equally spectacular, and Mercury nominated eponymous debut.
Getintothis has been a firm favourite since they played the much-missed Korova for Sound City in 2009and having also caught them at the Shipping Forecast in 2010 (where on one track they played a Funkadelic style 20 minute whacked out funk odyssey which contained some of the finest rhythmic playing we’ve ever witnessed – nice one Tom Herbert and Leo Taylor) we can’t recommend enough catching this incredible live band in action.
Here’s a statement from the band.
As you will know, Dave survived a life threatening electrocution while playing in Lagos, Nigeria. As a result, the band had to cancel all live engagements for the foreseeable future. Luckily, Dave has made a speedy recovery and the band are delighted to announce the following October dates…
Those dates can be found here.
Don’t miss this one.
