Adam Green

As Adam Green prepares to take his reimagining of Disney classic Aladdin on tour, Getintothis’ Joe Ray Woodhouse looks ahead to his show at the O2 Academy.

From music to film, Adam Green is always full of surprises, and he’s about to take the music of his upcoming take on Aladdin to the Liverpool O2 Academy.

Once part of the anti-folk movement with Moldy Peaches, then carrying on the deadpan humour with his own solo releases, Adam Green has created a vast array of classics for the jilted generation. He’s since gone into art and film making, and is ready to reveal his latest work to the world, with a key stop being at the 02 Academy.

Adam Green‘s upcoming version of Aladdin is set for release this year, and he’s pulling out the cast to help with his live playing of the film’s soundtrack. When the movie looks into Aladdin‘s dysfunctional family, you just know it isn’t going to be A Whole New World.

Andrew Van Wyngarden of MGMT, Zoe Kravitx of Lolawolf and Macaulay Culkin of Pizza Underground (Or Home Alone) are just a few of the stars which will be making an appearance, all contributing to bring the Green rendition of Aladdin to life. Green has dabbled in anti-folk, instrumentals and even wants to have a go at a heavy metal album so it’s going to be interesting to see just just what the live result will be.

The cumulation of Green‘s art, film and music will come together at the Liverpool O2 Academy on May 24, with £15 advance tickets available now.
