Jimmy’s

Jimmy’s is the new kid on the block, taking up residence in the old Cabin Club, Getintothis’ Peter Goodbody has exclusive photos of the transformation.

Liverpool’s newest music venue, Jimmy’s opened Thursday August 1 and we have a series of exclusive pictures that show how the place has been transformed.

At the time the initial pictures were taken, work was not quite finished, but it was clear the workers were well on the way to getting the job done with a last push to the line.

Now we have seen what the final results look like and it’s stunning.

Following on from their successful venture in Manchester’s Northern Quarter the Liverpool version of Jimmy’s is the third new venue to open in the city in recent months.

Last year Jacaranda Phase One came on the scene and, more recently, we’ve seen the creation of The Stockroom, a gig space in the Kazimier Garden.

The opening night showed a real statement of intent with a gig from The Coral, one of Liverpool’s best known bands.

This is followed on Saturday with an all dayer headlined by The Blinders. Another gig that is sure to be rammed.

Jimmy’s

Speaking to Getintothis, Jimmy’s Events Director, Ben Taylor said:  “It’s looking incredible you know! You picture how it’s going to look when it’s a building site, and it’s gone beyond what I’d hoped. We’re doing something really special here.”

But Jimmy’s is not going to be just a gig venue.

Ben explained: “Our main bar will be open from 12pm every day of the week, always with free entry, and the restaurant on the first floor will be available for bookings and walk ins, not just for our gig-goers.

Drinks-wise, we’ll be rolling out teas, coffees, soft drinks, mocktails, something for everyone, not just the usual alcohol.”

Jimmy’s Manchester venue has cemented itself as a central hub in the Northern Quarter, now they’re planning on taking Liverpool by storm. And with the Manchester pedigree behind it, then there’s every reason this venue should do well.

You, too can get involved and buy shares in Jimmy’s.

As Ben explains: “This is something we’ve been working on for a while, it’s really something. You can own shares in the company for as little as £25, which also gets you 6 pints of Jimmy’s Lager.

You can have your name on a brick on the wall of legends in the bar, guestlist for life, or even have your face on the ceiling – Leonardo DaVinci style!”

So, now the wait is over. There’s an impressive list of gigs lined up so far and the team seem to be adding more on an almost daily basis.

At Getintothis, we think we will be spending a considerable amount of time in Jimmy’s in the coming months.
