San Fransico’s Enablers announce a rare UK tour which includes a Liverpool date and Getintothis’ Simon Kirk has all the details.

San Franciscan spoken-work post-rock odyssey, Enablers, have announced a rare UK tour for May 2020.

With the announcement that the band will perform at London’s Raw Power Festival, Enablers have also included a string of shows up and down the country, which includes a date at Liverpool’s Kazimier Stockroom.

Enablers are set to play the Kazimier Stockroom on Tuesday, May 19.

It’s a tremendous coup for the venue, who keep providing an outlet for left-of-centre artists both locally and on a global scale and this is perhaps their finest booking yet.

Enablers are beatnik spoken-word artist, Peter Simonelli, former Swans guitarist, Joe Goldring, Kevin Thomson (guitars) and Sam Ospovat (drums).

They are renowned be one of the finest live acts on the planet, unleashing an improv-post-rock hellfire with Simonelli‘s spoken-word diatribes inspired by the seedy backstreets of humanity the likes of Charles Bukowski and Tom Waits brought/bring to life.

The band tours in support of their latest album Zones which was released earlier this year. You can read our review of the album here.

Enablers‘ 2015, album, The Rightful Pivot also made our Top 100 albums of the Decade. An unbridled masterpiece and their live show is equally as thrilling.

This certainly shapes up to be one of the shows of the new calendar year.

Enablers UK tour:

  • Friday, May 15: The Hug and Pint, Glasgow
  • Tuesday, May 19: Kazimier Stockroom, Liverpool
  • Wednesday, May 20: Golden Lion, Todmordern
  • Thursday, May 21: Chameleon Arts Cafe, Nottingham
  • Friday, May 22, Sunday, May 24: Raw Power Festival, London
