Threshold Festival 2020 was postponed due to coronavirus but the team have pulled out an alternative, Getintothis’ Peter Goodbody on today’s happening.

Threshold was planning to bow out in 2020. But not quite as they had imagined.

The 2019 version was a cracker, going back to The Baltic Triangle and, it seemed, its natural home.

News earlier this year was inevitable – Threshold was postponed. It can’t happen any time soon. It hasn’t actually been cancelled and we really, really hope it will come back.

But, we have news, from organisers: “This Saturday April 4, Kaya, Chris and the Threshold Team are going live from lock down with a special streamed podcast.

“The team behind Threshold Festival of Festival of Music & Arts were due to celebrate their tenth and final annual event this weekend, but due to COVID-19 the event has been postponed with a new date to be confirmed.

“In lieu of the festival the streamed event taking place on the Threshold Festival Facebook is to be hosted by Threshold Co-founders Kaya & Chris Herstad Carney.

“Guest chat and music & arts picks will come from Directors Andy Minnis & Emilia Eriksson and core team members as well as an appearance from Liverpool singer-songwriter Mersey Wylie.

The Who Live At Leeds – 50 years of heavy rock and setting the bar for any live album

“Following the chat show there will be a live streamed performance from Nana Funk and contributions from participating musicians to be revealed on the day.

“Representing the arts, there will be an online gallery of visual arts curated by Jazamin Sinclair and including work from artists who were due to exhibit at the festival including Tinsel, Edwards, Cerano Denn, Alex Stone and more.”

Go to the Threshold Festival Facebook page for the live Zoom feed on Saturday April 4 at 1pm.
