Once, twice, three times a week we are doing our bit to keep it interesting with our Getintothis Live cultural discussions, Getintothis’ Steven Doherty has this week’s star-studded line-up.
Getintothis Live is our new three-times weekly chat show to keep you entertained during these strange times, combining special guests, Getintothis’ regular contributors and interesting chats about the topics of the day.
It’s fast becoming quite the cultural thrice weekly must-watch.
And once again, this week’s live stream line-ups feature the absolute cream of the debating crop.
The host with the most is the master of ceremonies Roy Bayfield, who will be in charge of proceedings at 8pm tonight (Saturday), Monday and Wednesday, accompanied by Getintothis’ kingpin Peter Guy.
Tonight sees the gentlemen joined by Fran Doran, lead singer of those splendid kings of Scouse Americana, Red Rum Club, who are doing some fine work for charity, with the recent release of an acoustic version of Alone Together, alongside a limited edition T-shirt, the proceeds of both will be donated to the NHS workers.
Hopefully, he’ll give us the latest on their forthcoming second album and their (fingers firmly crossed) Sound City headliner appearance.
Alongside Fran, there’s Liverpool based musician Tierny, who has supported such luminaries as Stealing Sheep and is featured exclusively in our Deep Cuts column this month.
We also have Dr Suzi Gage, who as well as being a mental health researcher and Senior Lecturer at Liverpool University, is also responsible for the excellent Say Why To Drugs podcast. Megan Burns, manager whose roster includes Palm Reader and Isolated Youth, completes the foursome.
All of whom will no doubt have a wealth of opinions, so not to be missed.
Monday evening (18th) sees the high quality guests just keep on coming.
Legendary Grammy and Brit award winning producer Steve Levine, who has worked with the likes of Culture Club, Natalie McCool, Space, China Crisis, Ziggy Marley and The Beach Boys is good enough to join in the fun.
Also appearing will be fellow legend Revo, who you will know best as one of Liverpool’s longest running promoters under his brand EVOL.
If you’ve been to see anyone good in town over the last few years, chances are it will have been one of his. He is also Marketing Manager at the O2 Academy and Arts Club, so will no doubt have plenty to say on the current lack of live events.
As if that wasn’t plenty, we are also thrilled to be joined by Sid Hand-Halford, drummer with acclaimed stars-in-the-making The Orielles and freelance artist and theatre/production designer Holly Langley.
Manchester Gigs of the Month: May 2020 plus Manchester Unknown Pleasures
And finally for this week on Wednesday the 20th we have Steve Proctor, fabled Liverpool DJ with a long successful history (which you can read more about here).
With Steve, there will be Shell Zenner, a passionate new music advocate who presents on XS Manchester, Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing for the Manchester area, who will no doubt have an opinion on all things Manc.
Yemeni Scouse poet Amina Ataq, who opened last year’s 6 Music Festival as well as appearing at one of our Deep Cuts nights, and Labour Councillor for Warbreck and massive music fan Ann O’Byrne complete the line-up in what is our best week of guests yet.
