The Getintothis top five stories of the week

As another busy week draws to a close, here’s Getintothis’ Max Richardson rounding up the coming and goings here on the site.

Afternoon all, here’s hoping you’re all well.

Well then, we’re at the end of yet another week which sees lockdown measures in the UK easing slightly, with non-essential businesses reopening forming a light at the end of the tunnel for many.

This week, much of this writer’s time has been spent listening to Interpol, particularly their legendary 2004 LP Antics.

Interpol are one of those groups that have somehow managed to pass me by a bit – but the error of my ways is quickly becoming apparent to me listening to their albums.

Tracks such as Evil and Rest My Chemistry are sensational works of contemporary rock music, brimming with adept songwriting ability delivered in a sugary, glossy sheen.

Depeche Mode – a buyer’s guide to the dark synth pioneers

Elsewhere this week, this writer has been reacquanting himself with many classics from the action genre, films such as Predator and Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid.

For me, there’s nothing quite like switching off in front of an action flick, with the classics of the genre such as Aliens coming as some of this writer’s favourite films.

There’s just something about the inherent tension of watching that kind of film that gives a welcome distraction from the frankly dire news that we hear about as of late.

Have you been listening to, or watching anything interesting this week? We’d love to hear all about it – do feel free to let us know in the comments below.

Anyway, let’s crack on with the reason we’re all here – the Getintothis Top Five:
