After giving Lady Gaga a run for her money in the Album Charts, Getintothis’ David Hughes gives the run down on Sports Team’s Spring 2021 headline tour.

Sports Team have announced their headline tour to support their debut long play, Deep Down Happy, which narrowly finished runners up in the Album Charts to Lady Gaga.

It can, however, take pride in the fact it was the biggest seller of the week, both in physical and digital sales, seeing it debut right at the top in the vinyl charts.

That’s quite some achievement for a debut album.

The tour sees the band travel up, down and around the UK, starting on April 20 in Dublin, before hitting up six other cities, including Leeds, Manchester and Glasgow.

Their London date will be their biggest show yet, the perfect way to close out their tour, which will see them taking to the stage of O2 Academy Brixton on April 29.

There’s no Liverpool date this time round. However, check out our review of their performance at the Arts Club last year and you’ll see why they are definitely worth the trip to Manchester.

Live Nation issue stark warning insisting artists must share risk when the live gigs return

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am BST, so if you want your Sports Team fix, get them quick before they sell out – which is more than likely to happen.

In addition to the tour news, Sports Team have released a new animated video for Long Hot Summer.

The dates of Sports Team’s tour are:

April 20: Dublin, The Grand Social
April 22: Leeds, Leeds University Stylus
April 23: Manchester, The Albert Hall
April 25: Nottingham, Rock City
April 26: Glasgow, SWG3
April 28: Bristol, SWX Bristol
April 29: London, O2 Academy Brixton
