With a whole host of delights announced for the Northern Quarter extravaganza, Getintothis’ Craig MacDonald takes a look at whats on offer.

Manchester’s Northern Quarter will become a musical Mecca this month, as A Carefully Planned Festival takes over the area for its sixth gathering.

Strewn across an array of venues from October 15-16 within the bustling streets of the bohemian district, the two day event is a celebration of alternative music and DIY culture.

Growing from strength, to strength, it has now become one of the cornerstones in the independent and underground musical communities, with this years bash welcoming Welsh noise pop from Joanna Gruesome, indie rock vets Johnny Foreigner and Scottish folk rockers Admiral Fallow as well as many more.
