The Horrors, Ghostpoet and Merseyside’s band of the moment, Outfit, head up Liverpool Music Week 2011 as Getintothis’ Peter Guy exclusively reveals the full details.

The Horrors and Mercury Prize nominee Ghostpoet are among the names announced for Liverpool Music Week 2011.
The annual boutique Liverpool music festival returns to the city on October 28 running until November 13 featuring the cream in new music from all over the world.
The festival, which returns for the ninth year, will host a spectacular closing event at the Contemporary Urban Centre on November 11 which will feature Mercury Prize nominee Ghostpoet. He will star alongside a plethora of Liverpool hype bands including Outfit, Vasco de Gama and alt-pop favourites Hot Club de Paris.
Tickets for the closing party are priced an early bird rate of just £6.

The inclusion of Outfit will be a major scoop for the festival given this is their homecoming gig since being named number 6 in NME’s top 25 bands in the world to watch.
Among the other names announced are Manchester favourites Dutch Uncles, Scottish alt-rock from Phantom Band and Brooklyn hype band Cerebral Ballzy.

A number of free shows at Liverpool Music Week’s spiritual home, Mojo Bar, are set to be announced later this month with Ian Dury‘s son Baxter and NME radar stars Tribes heading the list.
Liverpool Music Week began in 2003 and over the last eight years has gone onto become the UK’s biggest indoor winter music festival.
Festival director Mike Deane, said: “I’m delighted with the way Liverpool Music Week has come together. To open up with The Horrors, one of the UK’s most talked-about bands and close with one of the hottest musicians on the circuit, Ghostpoet, is great for the city.
“The closing event represents what the festival is about – a feast of music in one of the city’s most exciting venues – The CUC is a labyrinth of a building with 17 individual spaces – it promises to be a remarkable night, definitely not to be missed.”

The full list of announced bands announced so far include: The Horrors, Ghostpoet, The Duke Spirit, Baxter Dury, Foreign Beggars, The Young Knives, Summer Camp, Drums of Death, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Dutch Uncles, Cerebal Ballzy, Dustin Wong, Marcus Foster, Cashier no.9, Twin Sister, Lanterns On The Lake, Three Trapped Tigers, Beth Jeans Houghton, Newvillager, D/R/U/G/S, Gross Magic, Trevor Moss & Hannah Lou, Dog Is Dead, Gardens & Villa, Echo Lake, Vessles, Visions of Trees, Ellen & the Escapades, Ex-Easter Island Head, Fear Of Men, Man Without Country.
