Blackheart Orchestra and Julie Byrne are back on the live circuit as Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley checks out the new Blossoms track.

Ladytron, who are set to release their first album for seven years, have revealed three UK dates in November.

Their new release, set to hit the airwaves later this year, has already given us single The Animals, are set to follow before they play O2 Academy on Saturday, November 3.

The date will be in between dates in Glasgow and London, and the first chance to catch Ladytron live since 2011.

Christine and The Queens have announced a Manchester date as part of a tour that takes her to the US and Europe before UK dates in November.

Her flamboyant yet minimalist pop sound will fill Manchester’s O2 Apollo on Tuesday, November 27.

Meanwhile, Julie Byrne will play Studio 2 on Wednesday, June 6 with support from Jim Ghedi.

It’s a double header for Todmorden’s Basin Rock Records, brought to you by Harvest Sun Promotions.

GIT Award nominee We Are Catchers (Peter Jackson) is set to return with a new album in June following some time out of Liverpool’s limelight.

The album coincides with the launch of new night The Beat Club, which kicks off on Thursday, May 17 at Hangar 34 with The Sums and The Living Brain.

Widnes band The Racket, who recently supported Trampolene are also set to feature.

The Blackheart Orchestra will play 81 Renshaw this Saturday, April 28 with support from Rachael Jean Harris.

The award-winning Manchester duo fuse electronica and acoustic seamlessly and feature at the venue in their last headline performance in the North West for some time.

Finally, sultry summer trio Beach Skulls will play Shipping Forecast on Saturday, June 16.

Our new tune this week comes from Blossoms, the Stockport band are preparing to follow up their huge debut album and have released second single There’s A Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls) from their upcoming LP Cool Like You.

The track features a huge sonic intro, and drops into what is perhaps their best single release since Charlemagne back before their debut. You can listen to the track here:
