The South American masters of psych return to Merseyside for a special date and Getintothis’ Simon Kirk has the details
Chilean space-psych exploration three-piece, Föllakzoid, return to the UK in 2020, this time announcing a Liverpool date.
The band will play the main room of the Arts Club on Tuesday, April 14, as they make a swift return to cities bypassed on their UK tour last year.
Shortly after embarking on this stretch of the tour, Föllakzoid will make the trip to the Netherlands to play the acclaimed Roadburn Festival.
Föllakzoid are no strangers around these parts with their album, III, making out Top 100 Albums of the Decade list.
Furthermore, their latest long-player, I, made our 2019 Albums of the Year list at number 10.
In the words of Getintothis editor, Peter Guy: “Where previous albums have stuck to a more traditional psychedelic fusion of abrasive guitars aligned to dense percussive swells new album I takes a completely opposite route stripping everything back into a minimalistic framework as 17 minute songs merge into a complete 60 minute whole.
“The result is techno-psychedelia: a minimal, unremitting drone designed to send you into a spiralling psychosis. Whether you’re adventurous to allow them take you into the abyss with them, is purely a matter of taste – the result should you accept the challenge is rather magikal.”
We think tickets will go pretty fast for this one, so grab them while you can.
Föllakzoid UK tour dates:
