Låpsley – in her comfy chair

Låpsley will play a Liverpool date next month as part of an upcoming tour, with a brand new video to whet your whistle, Getintothis’ Patrick Clarke reveals all.

GIT Award nominee and indisputable rising star, Liverpool’s own Låpsley has unveiled both a brand new video for Brownlow and a string of headline April dates.

The video sees the singer on a reflective midnight drive, intercut with wistful visuals and, of course, her trademark blend of exquisitely misty electronic pop.

The tune is cut from the singer’s Understudy EP, which appeared late last year, her first release with highly-acclaimed XL Recordings and saw her take the top spot on the Blog Sound of 15 poll.

Låpsley, who headlined the GIT Award launch last autumn, will also be taking the EP on the road next month, with a five-date headline tour announced alongside the video reveal.

The tour begins with a headline slot where it all began, at Liverpool’s Leaf on 17 April, alongside dates in Salford, Edinburgh, Brighton and London.

The artist, a.k.a. Holly Lapsley Fletcher, has also just confirmed slots at a number of Summer festivals, including Bestival and Parklife.

Alongside the likes of Circa WavesAll We Are and Hooton Tennis ClubLåpsley features amid the nominees for this year’s GIT Award, where she won the One to Watch prize last year.

It’s the main prize she’s up for this year, and with a tour, video and hopefully more material in tow it’s shaping up to be one hell of a year for one of Liverpool‘s true potential gamechangers.
