10 Bands 10 Minutes

And now the end is near… The 10 Band 10 Minutes team host their final grand slam at The Kazimier with a spectacular Best Of blowout, Getintothis’ Emma Walsh gets the run down.

In Chinese culture certain numbers hold significant importance. The number three is thought to be lucky, the number eight is associated with prosperity and wealth. At The Kazimier, the magic number has always been ten.

We’ve witnessed ten 10 Bands 10 Minutes line ups grace the stage at the Wolstenholme Square venue and with its black doors closing for the final time this New Year’s Eve it seems only right that Married to the Sea should mark the end of a particularly special era with one last blow out.

The final hurrah on December 12 will see ten 10 Bands favourites take on classics from previous tributes to music icons including BlondieNeil Young and Fleetwood Mac. Others will revisit the One Hit Wonders and At the Movies themes which have delighted gig goers over the years and made for some unforgettable Kazimier moments – who will ever forget Silent Sleep recreating the infamous dance scene from Dirty Dancing?

Much of the line up had been kept under wraps until now but Married to the Sea have revealed a little of what to expect. They shall be recreating their One Hit Wonders track of choice while Silent Sleep are returning to that wonderful Fleetwood Mac tribute of 2013. Cavalier Song bring us back to the Neil Young tribute and Big Safari will be bringing the Bowie back.

It has since been announced that other acts joining the bill will include Dan CrollNatalie McCoolGood GriefAvenging Force and Man in the Dark.

With this stellar line up delving into the outstanding back catalogue of Michael JacksonPrince and Madonna it’s safe to assume that every act on the bill will have a full sack of delights for the 10 Bands devotees this festive season.

Needless to say Married to the Sea will have a send off of epic proportions on the cards, and those golden boys Gold Soundz will have all of the tunes you could ever wish for bringing the party to the biggest, badass, boogiest close at 3am.
