After 18 months cut adrift, Death At Sea return with title track from their debut record, Getintothis’ Josh Gorman salutes their statement of intent.

Garnering a great deal of industry attention 18 months ago with their debut double A-side release Drag/Selfless, expectation has been building for the return of Liverpool fuzz rockers Death At Sea.
Last year the band decamped to Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme‘s London studio to record their highly anticipated debut album. Glimmer, the first cut to be released is frankly, brilliant.
While the sound and influence of the best of American indie is clear, idiosyncrasy is key to what stands Death At Sea at the forefront of modern guitar music. It’s brooding in tone but elegant in composition, sombre but strangely euphoric.
Glimmer is more than just a single however; it’s a statement of intent. This is no longer the sound of a band in transition. After a year of hibernation, 2014 is Death At Sea‘s for the taking.
Gimmer is released on April 7 via Kissability Records.
